The Four Lepers

2 Kings 7:3-10

Four leprous men sat at the gate of Samaria during a famine. They reasoned that entering the city meant death by famine, staying meant death where they sat, so falling into the camp of the Syrians was their best chance. They found the camp empty. God had made the Syrians hear the noise of a great army, and they fled, leaving everything behind.

Celebration Despite Affliction

• These men carried a disease that brought social rejection. Society isolated them so the sickness would not spread.
• There are battles that come simply because of who you are.
• The worst battle is one where your voice cannot be heard, but God knows how to make Himself heard.
• Affliction can touch your body, but it cannot touch your will.
• "Where there's a will, there's a way. When your will says yes, God will not say no."

Guard Your Associations

Psalm 1:1

• Never make the mistake of staying around the wrong people, even if everything else is going right.
• Bad company can still lead you to the wrong destination.
• Walking leads to standing, and standing leads to sitting, so guard the first step.

Determination and the Spirit

• Many who finished school are still stuck and poor. Something has entered them that keeps them trapped.
• Do not accept a diagnosis or a report as final.
• When the Spirit enters, you refuse to accept your status. No law, no constitution can hold you.
• "Who are you to think against me when God thinks for me?"

Testimony: The American Passport

A young man he had prayed for and laid hands on before he left Nigeria arrived in America. Three years later he had his American passport in hand. "That's the benefit of the Spirit." Little that others find difficult to obtain will come to you easily.

Beyond the Letter of Scripture

Matthew 19

• Jesus taught that a man must leave father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two become one.
• When challenged on why Moses allowed divorce, Jesus answered that it was not so from the beginning.
• There is an intimacy with God that reveals things beyond what is written, but nothing outside the Bible.

The Charge

From Oppression to Celebration

• The four lepers moved from a place the law forbade them to enter, to entering the city freely. No one questioned them.
• When you have evidence, the laws step aside, protocols break, and processes become outdated.

The Prophetic Time

2 Kings 7:1

• The night before, Elisha had given a prophecy: about this same time tomorrow, provision would come.
• The prophecy spread through the whole city. Both sides heard it, but only the four men acted on it.
• Prophetic words are true, but they become precise when you understand the prophetic time.
• These men joined together and took a step, and there was a turnaround for the whole city.
• "Your prophecy awaits your commitment, your manifestation, your progress."
• The prophecy has been released, but seeing it fulfilled requires you to commit and advance.

Elisha did not only prophesy abundance, he set market prices for it by faith, a measure of fine flour for a shekel. Done by faith.

Testimony: The Marijuana Smoke

A young man got into a fight outside church and blew marijuana smoke in the preacher's face twice, after being warned. He was told, "You came to me on your own two feet, but in three weeks we will carry you to me, there will be cancer in your blood." Three weeks later the boy's mother arrived in distress. Her son had cancer. As a condition for prayer, the boy had to get out of the car and walk himself to the church, the same place he had blown the smoke. He walked, was prayed for, and God healed him.

The Spirit That Remains

John 1:32-33

• Many are unaware of the power within them.
• In the Old Testament the Spirit came upon people and then left.
• Jesus said the one on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. In the New Testament, the Spirit descends and stays.
