Glow Is a Byproduct of Burning

Matthew 5:14 — "Ye are the light of the world." No lamp shines without something inside it burning — even a handheld torch works because a filament is ignited by power from the battery. When the filament burns out, the torch goes dark, and the fix is simple: replace the filament, or plug the whole unit back into the power source. Some of us are dead filaments — burned out, and unwilling to humbly ask the Lord to replace what's gone. Others of us have simply been disconnected for so long that we've mistaken the residual shine — what's left over from once being near the light — for the light itself.

Samson: How Grace Gets Worn Down Gradually

Delilah pressed Samson repeatedly for the secret of his strength, and each time he gave a false answer, tested it, and survived — until, worn down by relentless pressure, he finally told her the truth and let her cut his hair. You don't always know what grace has been covering you from until it's gone. Please teach the people you love to recognize what true love actually looks like — because love that is tied to reducing you, controlling you, or making you smaller than who God called you to be isn't love, no matter what words accompany it. Someone who claims to love you while diminishing your worth, your voice, or your safety is not offering love — they're offering control dressed up in loving language.

You cannot keep burning while sitting in an environment that keeps reducing you below what God made you to be. Daughter, princess, pillar — don't stay somewhere that guarantees you'll burn out rather than keep burning.

Fire Purifies and Empowers Purpose

Malachi 3:2-3 — "he shall sit as a refiner and purifier." Fire removes what doesn't belong to you. Jeremiah described the word of the Lord as "shut up in my bones like a burning fire" — when you are genuinely burning, purpose stops being something you have to force; it becomes unstoppable on its own.
