We Live in a World Governed by Spirits
We are in a world that is governed by spirits. And for us to enjoy victory, the Bible makes it clear that God is a Spirit. When Jesus met the man in Mark 5, the man was still alive, yet he was living in the graveyard. It was a spirit that drove him from where normal people lived. And when Jesus saw the man, He didn't speak to the man — He spoke to the spirit. He said, "What is your name?"
We have not come to speak to people. We have come to speak to spirits. Spirits of lack. Spirits of disease. Spirits of struggle. Spirits of death. These are the forces that hold people hostage without their knowledge.
Evil spirits have no sympathy. They will afflict a little baby with autism. A little child with cancer. They have no emotion. So you too must press without emotion. Whatever an evil spirit has done, the Holy Spirit will swallow it up.
The Promise of God Must Be Activated
There is a promise for every one of us. But the promise of God needs to be activated by man. If God gives you a promise, it is up to you to activate it. The promise of God is in the Scripture. It is there as letters on paper. But when you take steps, what was paper becomes life. That is why He said the letter kills but the Spirit gives life.
Genesis 21:6-7. A promise was given to Sarah that she would receive a child. For twenty-five years, something held that promise. But after a while, when God showed up, Sarah said, "God has made me to laugh, so that all who hear will laugh with me. Who would have thought that I, Sarah, should give children?"
In the very area where you cried, in the area where you wept, in the area of your life where you were in sorrow, God will make you laugh. He will give you a surprise.
Your Background Is Not Your Barrier
We are in a generation where people write you off because of your background. But your background is not the reason your back is on the ground. Do not let any man think your back is on the ground because of your background. There is a God who is your backbone.
My backbone is stronger than my background.
There are people who have concluded that nothing good can happen in your life. But God is about to disappoint them. He will disappoint the expectations of the wicked.
Three Keys to Entering Celebration
There are three things Scripture reveals for entering a season of celebration.
A New Identity
God changed her name from Sarai to Sarah. If you want to enjoy celebration, you need a new identity. A Christian is not a sinner. A sinner is not a Christian. Sin is your greatest enemy. Sin separates you from God. All the years you gave to sin were a waste. Just imagine if you gave those years to this God who can never turn His back on you.
Separation from Dead Weight
Ishmael had to leave before Isaac could thrive. There are associations, habits, and relationships that are blocking your celebration. There are things that give birth to mockery in your life that must be separated from you before your celebration can fully manifest. You cannot carry both your past and your promise simultaneously.
Aggressive Faith
You must be aggressive. Evil spirits have no sympathy, so you must press with the same intensity. There is one Spirit that is greater than all spirits — the Holy Ghost. Romans 8:11 says that if the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He shall quicken your mortal body. That same Spirit is alive in you and available to break every hold over your life.
God Speaks to Spirits on Your Behalf
At a crusade, a young girl who had been blind for many years was present. As the congregation worshipped, the Spirit that is bigger than every other spirit touched her eyes, and she began to see. She left her seat, looking around at people's faces, saying, "I can see people." What held her bound? A spirit. And what broke it? A greater Spirit.
Whatever evil spirits have done in your life, the Holy Ghost will swallow it up.
