What a quantum leap actually is

A quantum leap is a sudden, dramatic advancement, a jump from one level to a much higher one without passing through the gradual stages in between. It means massive, rapid progress rather than slow incremental growth. Walking into that means aligning yourself with what God is already blessing, rather than doing your own thing and asking God to bless it.

The technology of a miracle

Every genuine miracle carries an instruction. Carrying out that instruction is your part of the bargain, the thing that separates a miracle from magic. The devil offers shortcuts with no process and no pain, and gives the inferior while stealing the greater inheritance, the way he offered Jesus the glory of the world without the cross.

Matthew 4:8-9

• Feeding of the five thousand: the instruction was to sit in orderly groups of fifty and trust the bread would reach them. That waiting was the faith
• Water turned to wine at Cana: six pots had to be filled with water and carried to the master of the feast before it became wine
• The woman with the issue of blood reached out and touched Jesus' garment herself, he did not touch her

Faith is not "whatever will be will be"

Faith is using what you already received from God, directing your life in line with the word he has spoken, not sitting back and waiting passively. Prophecy is an invitation, faith is what turns it into a manifestation. Israel was promised the land in days and instead died in the wilderness over forty years because they never walked into what was promised.

Told that God would satisfy him with long life, the preacher warned his wife to seek that same promise for herself. That same night, reaching for a Coke, he sensed God correct him, satisfying him with long life meant he could not keep drinking what would kill him. Believing the word means living differently because of it, not leaving it to chance.

Many only apply real faith to negative words. Told you will die in three days, you will fast and pray it away. Told God will bless you in three days, you do nothing and simply wait. Promises go unfulfilled because people are not partnering with them.

Learning God's ways

Isaiah 55:1-2

Isaiah 55:6-7

God invites the thirsty to come without money, to stop spending strength chasing people who cannot truly help. Verse seven calls the wicked to forsake his ways and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Righteousness here is not just moral goodness but alignment with God's ways, like a phone passcode, the right code opens it, the wrong one does not, no matter how sincere you are.

There is sin of commission, what you did, and sin of omission, what you failed to do. Not aligning your thinking and actions with what God is doing is a sin of omission.

His thoughts are higher than our thoughts

Peter thought his problem was fish, Jesus wanted to make him a fisher of men. Someone praying only for a job may be praying too small when God intends to give them a company employing thousands, and the job they wanted becomes a junior role inside it. Israel cried to be free of the burden of slavery but really wanted lighter treatment as slaves, not full deliverance into another nation entirely. The weekly Sabbath rest was God reprogramming a slave mindset that never stopped working. God chose to build a new generation through Moses, who had never been a slave, because the old mindset could not carry the new promise.

Waiting for his counsel

Psalm 106:13-15

Israel forgot God's works and did not wait for his counsel. They lusted and tested God, demanding what they wanted on their own timeline, and God gave them their request but sent leanness into their soul. Someone who forces open a door on their own terms, a job, a spouse, a decision, often ends up watching with envy as another person who waited receives the better outcome, entering the position or the marriage in a healthier, more established way.

Two ways good comes: prayer and kindness

13. Cornelius gave alms to the poor and his kindness came up as a memorial before God

None of them were being transactional. They simply wanted to help.

Growing up, the preacher's grandmother lived in a rough neighborhood where every house on the street had been robbed except hers. She had a habit of feeding and housing the same rough young men everyone else feared, and it was later those same men who protected her house and caught thieves who tried to rob it. "One day a bad child will do a good thing," she used to say, choosing to see good in people others had written off.

You cannot want a quantum leap while staying self-centered. A business built only to profit you will not carry the same weight as one built to answer other people's prayers, to employ, to eradicate unemployment. If God had to choose between protecting a self-centered Christian's company and a company employing tens of thousands, the one lifting more people carries the greater weight of his hand.

Acquaint yourself with him and be at peace

To "acquaint" is the Hebrew shakan, to stay close and familiar, never distancing yourself from God no matter what is happening. The time God may be found is not only in comfort, it is especially in seasons of dryness and depression, when prayer itself feels like a struggle.

Peace is not the same as an answered prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 promises a peace that surpasses understanding, meaning the situation may not have changed but you have. That peace is discovered through thanksgiving, starting your thinking from what God has already done rather than what you still want him to do. Abraham did not focus on the deadness of Sarah's womb, he reasoned from what God had already done for him, including Genesis 22.

Romans 4:19-20

Jeremiah 17:5-6 warns that the man who trusts in the arm of flesh will be like a shrub in the desert, dwelling in a salty, barren land, unable to see good even when it comes. Peace is what lets you recognize good when it arrives. Without it, God can open a door right in front of you and you will walk through another one entirely.
