Not Forsaking the Assembling of Yourselves Together
Hebrews 10:25 — "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." The early saints held a worldview the end-time church needs to recover: this present age is critically connected to the age that is to come, and they never separated the two.
The Office of the Christ
In this age, the Lord who saved us is domiciled in the heavens, seated in an administrative capacity — that is what it means when the Father said, "Sit thou at my right hand." When Peter confessed, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God," that confession carried real information: "Christ" names an office, an administrative position Jesus was ushered into after fulfilling the claims of divine justice. Just as the office of a president is distinct from the person who holds it, "the Christ" is the functionary whose administration carries out the counsel of God — except that office and person are one and the same, and there is no change of government.
Jeremiah 1:5 — before you were formed in the womb, God knew you and ordained you. You had a calling before you were born again, but it doesn't become tangible until you come under the administration of Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:30 — the moment you were born again, you were placed under that administration to manage your destiny. You cannot find the will of God for your life outside of dealing directly with that office. Grace — the supernatural energy that empowers what natural strength cannot — is dispensed from that same throne, which is why scripture calls it "the throne of grace."
The Age of Investment
This present age is what the early church understood as the age of investment: what you do now will not fully show its effect now — its consequence manifests in the age to come. That perspective is what allowed the early church to endure hardship without needing everything to resolve immediately in the present.
Gatherings Unlock What Solitude Cannot
There is a corporate anointing that becomes available specifically when believers gather rightly, that isn't available to the same degree to any one person alone. Numbers 11 — Moses only entered fully into the kingly dimension of his anointing when the elders of Israel were gathered together; the rest of the time, he functioned as an ordinary man. The first decree he made once that anointing came upon him during a gathering was on behalf of Reuben — restoring what had been lost through his father's earlier sin — something Moses hadn't spoken as prophecy but declared as king, in the moment the gathering clothed him with that dimension.
A personal account illustrates the same principle: after searching for a sense of God's presence privately in a hotel room without success, that same presence became immediately tangible the moment a small group gathered simply to dedicate a newly purchased building — not even a formal service. In that gathering, a specific prophetic vision came, leading to a specific prayer for someone's hearing loss, which was restored on the spot. The gathering itself was what the Lord recognized and responded to — not any particular skill or eloquence on the part of the one leading it.
Hebrews 12:22-24 — "ye are come unto mount Zion... to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn... to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant." These dimensions open specifically when believers, gathered together, genuinely touch base with heaven from the heart.
Not Every Gathering Is the Same
It is an accurate gathering, not merely an assembled crowd, that guarantees God's manifest presence. A gathering can have flawless music, professional voices, perfectly arranged lighting — and still lack the one thing that actually matters, because none of that can substitute for genuine hearts turned toward Jesus. Numbers alone were never the measure in the apostolic church; in the book of Acts, it was the Lord Himself who added to the church daily, not merely human skill at drawing a crowd.
Moving the Mandate Forward
Acts 13 — God began moving resources and gifted people out of Jerusalem and into Antioch, establishing a new apostolic station there, because Jerusalem alone lacked the reach to carry a mandate that was always meant to be global — from Jerusalem, to Judea, to Samaria, to the ends of the earth. The same principle holds today: apostolic gatherings exist to launch what a single location was never built to carry alone.
