Apostle Johnson Suleman Preaching - The Minister a Flame of Fire — Ministers Conference March 2026, Day 3
Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • Signs and wonders are not optional for the gospel — people gave heed to Philip in Samaria not because of his English but because of miracles.
  • Three quadrants determine manifestation: revelation (knowing who you are and what you carry), appropriation (applying what you know), and submission (connecting properly to anointing).
  • A minister is not someone who just preaches — they are a multifaceted diplomat of heaven sent to colonise earth using heaven's template.
  • Insecurity in leadership is expressed through title obsession and restricting those around you; secured leaders celebrate others' gifts.
  • Pray: Lord, turn me to fire — not give me fire, but turn me to fire.

Signs and Wonders Are Non-Negotiable

John 4:48 — Except they see signs and wonders, they will not believe. It does not matter how well-organised your presentation is. In Acts 8, the whole city of Samaria gave heed to the gospel by virtue of the signs, wonders, and miracles that came through Philip. There was great joy in that city.

Jonah was sent straight to Nineveh — but God rerouted him through a storm, through the sea, through the belly of a fish, and delivered him onto the shore of Nineveh. That was divine strategy. By the time the fish vomited him at Nineveh, the people had no other response than: this is a sign. They gave heed to the gospel because of what they witnessed.

We do not need more English. We need signs and wonders.

The Minister a Flame of Fire

Hebrews 1:7And of the angels He says: who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.

He did not say they will receive fire. He said they shall be it.

A minister is a diplomat — heaven's envoy assigned to replicate heaven's desire on the earth. A minister is one who brings spiritual value to heaven. A minister is an ambassador sent to colonise the earth using heaven's template. A minister is a multifaceted entity.

When you walk into a place and the keyboard player is absent, you sit down and play. When the drummer is absent, you move to the drum. When the praise leader is missing, you lead. Something must happen. A minister is result-oriented.

Three Quadrants of Manifestation

1. Revelation

Revelation is a booster for manifestation. Galatians 2:2 — Paul said, I went up by revelation. Revelation means: understanding who God is, knowing who you are, and realising what you are sent to do.

You do not attract what you chase. You attract who you are. Many are chasing for wealth, for prosperity — but you attract what you are. There is a way a man discovers himself. It is either you are a magnet or a repellent.

Grace does not back confusion. It supports clarity. No matter how graced a person is, until they understand clarity, there is no backing. The universe responds to energy, not logic. You do not receive what you want — you receive what you believe. John 1:12 — As many as received Him, to them He gave power to become sons of God, even to them that believe.

Zechariah 2:1–5 — A man appeared with a measuring line to measure Jerusalem. An angel stopped him: Jerusalem is not a city with walls — before God, it cannot be measured. There are people who have measured you. They look at your attendance, your car, your balance. They analyse you to determine how much honour to give you. But the angel says: this city cannot be measured. If there are walls around it at all, they are a wall of fire — not a wall of bricks, not a wall of limitation, but a wall of fire.

Tell somebody: you cannot measure me. My present state is not my final status. Whatever wall surrounds me is not a wall of struggle — it is a wall of fire.

2. Appropriation

Revelation without appropriation is charismatic affliction. It is not enough to gather scriptures. Application is what brings manifestation.

Exodus 3:2–4 — Moses saw the burning bush. In verse 3, he said to himself: I will now turn aside and see this great sight. Heaven was silent. He then said: I will turn aside — still a decision, still an intention. Heaven was still silent. But in verse 4: when the Lord saw that he turned, God called him.

God waited until Moses actually moved. It is your appropriation — your turning toward the thing — that triggers the response.

  • Covenant practice is not charity. Dashing money around is different from sowing a seed.
  • Know about giving and actually give. Know about tithing and actually tithe. There are ministers who prefer to buy instruments for the church with their own money — yet they have not paid tithe in three months. To them they are still doing God's work, but they are violating the covenant.
  • Be a dedicated giver. Be a dedicated tither. Be involved in seed-sowing, in giving to your spiritual covering. These are acts of appropriation that unlock covenant flow.

3. Submission

2 Kings 2:9 — Elijah said: What do you want that I should give you when I am taken? Elisha said: Let a double portion of your spirit rest on me. That was not greed — Elisha had looked ahead and seen what was coming in his generation. He needed more than what Elijah carried to address it. He needed a double portion to heal Naaman, to speak over the ground of Jericho, to command she-bears.

Elijah said: If you see me when I am taken, it shall be so. How you see your spiritual covering determines what you receive from them. All along Elisha had related to Elijah perhaps as a benefactor. But in the moment of departure, Elisha cried: My father, my father! — and the double portion fell.

  • If you are submitting, submit well. A charger can be on a socket and still not be charging — there is no connection. Be properly connected, not just physically present.
  • Do not be promiscuous in submission — running to every prophet, every apostle, collecting pictures with everyone, calling everybody your father. You end up nowhere. Whoever you are submitted to, be genuinely submitted.
  • Those who submit to the wrong things submit with intensity. Submission to the right anointing must carry weight and intentionality.

Features of a True Leader

  • A leader has passion for results. Jesus entered the temple and stayed while the parents left — because He did not come for something casual. Leadership is about getting things done. Something must happen at the end of every service.
  • A leader builds inner strength, not just outward muscle. It is not your challenge that is big — it is your strength that is small. Build inner capacity through intimacy with God. That is why the Bible says we are renewed in our inner man.
  • A leader is not insecure. Moses said: Are you jealous for my sake? I wish all God's servants were prophets. Secured leaders celebrate others. Insecure leaders restrict the people around them, ban foreign influence, and obsess over title. Jesus was called Son of Man — the most elementary of titles — yet He was miracle personified. Extreme title-consciousness is proof of insecurity.

There is no great man of God. There are only men of a great God.

The Final Prayer

Obadiah 1:17–18 — Upon Mount Zion shall be deliverance. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, the house of Joseph a flame.

He did not say they will receive fire. He said they shall be it.

This is the prayer to carry home and pray every day:

Lord, turn me to fire. Not give me fire — turn me to fire. Lord, clothe me with the garment of humility. Let people see You in me, not just me. Let people hear You in me, not just me. As You live Your life through me, let people come to seek Your face. Let people see You in me — not just me.

You will not do ministry just with words — you will do ministry in power. Fire your work. Fire your assignment. Fire your ministration. You go back with fire.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
