Know What You Want From God

You must know exactly what you want the Lord to do for you. From a message you can extract revelation, but without that revelation many people never learn how to appropriate what they want.

Illustration: children went door to door one Christmas season. At the first two houses, when the host said "I know you people don't care about food," those who politely agreed "we don't care" were turned away hungry, only the boy who insisted "I care, I want, give me food" was fed. Like blind Bartimaeus, when Jesus asked what he wanted, he answered plainly instead of deflecting. Mark 4:35

There Is Another Side

Getting to the other side is a process, you don't jump, you pass. While passing, confrontations will arise, but you are not staying there, you are only passing through.

Israel said to Sihon, "Let us pass through thy land, we will not touch thee." Sihon refused. Israel answered, "Either I pass in peace, or I pass leaving you in pieces."

God Lives In You

The disciples carried Jesus in the ship, yet a storm still came, carrying God is not a guarantee of stability. Christianity is the only faith where the worshipped resides inside the worshipper. Anywhere you go, you carry him. Because he lives in you, sickness, affliction and pain cannot remain in your body.

Nothing Is Impossible

An engineer once told the preacher a construction change was "not possible." He fired that engineer and hired another who found a way. "Don't tell me it's not possible, go and figure out how to do it." The new engineer was later led to salvation on the spot.

Storms Reveal What Is On The Other Side

The storm on the sea came because the disciples were on their way to deliver a demonized man. Anytime a storm or battle rises against you, know there is something valuable on the other side. The devil is a wise investor, he will not bother you if you have nothing to offer.

God Weighs Everyone In The Balance

God will wait for the enemy's cup of iniquity to be full before judgment falls. Genesis 15:16

Sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, so the heart of men is set to do evil. Ecclesiastes 8:11

For three transgressions, and for four, God said he would not turn away judgment. Amos 1:3

Story: Hezekiah was told to put his house in order, that he would die. He turned his face to the wall and pleaded, and God granted him 15 more years. In the twelfth of those years his son Manasseh was born, who became the worst king after him, inventing idols that never existed before. When a foreign king came to inspect his recovery, Hezekiah proudly showed off all his gold and silver, and Isaiah rebuked him for it. God had wanted to take Hezekiah out before pollution entered his bloodline, but Hezekiah refused to go.

Weighed In The Balance And Found Wanting

Belshazzar's magicians could not read the handwriting on the wall. Daniel was called in and told the king he had been weighed in the balance and found wanting. That same night Darius and Cyrus broke into the palace. Because of that victory, the Jews were given the first and greatest portion of Babylon's wealth, and everyone desired to be a Jew.

Storms Don't Move God, Relationship Does

Every good decision will be contended, every resolve will be challenged, every opinion will be questioned. If nobody bothers you, it means you are nobody. David's confrontation of Goliath changed Israel's leadership the day Saul ran and David stood.

Jesus was asleep on a pillow in the midst of the storm. The disciples screamed "Master!" and he awoke and rebuked the wind and the sea. Storms don't move God, relationship does.

Job said, "I know my redeemer liveth." Job 19:25

Paul said, "We know that all things work together for good." Romans 8:28

"He was wounded for my transgression, bruised for my iniquity, by his stripes I am healed." Isaiah 53:5

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." Psalm 23:4

Three Reasons Prayer "Crashes"

1. Human error

   If a pilot is angry, nobody boards his plane. You cannot pray effectively while carrying unrighteousness. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

   If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Psalm 66:18

2. Machine error

   Some people simply do not know how to pray, the prayer itself is faulty. You ask and receive not, because you ask to consume it on your own lust, prayer centered only on self will not be answered. James 4:3

3. Weather error

   Some territories are spiritually resistant, and you must pray harder there than you did elsewhere. As they were praying, territorial spirits contended against them. Daniel 10:3

   Story: a young man mocked pastors online as compromised, until he visited a morally broken nation and saw what those pastors were up against there, from that day he never spoke against them again.

Take Over Your Territory By Mapping

Before you plant a business, a school, or a church in a location, take over that place in the realm of the spirit first, take over that place by mapping.

Story: a young pastor sent to a difficult nation nearly gave up and wanted to come home after members kept falling sick (traced to a meal served the day after arrival). When another minister later identified the root, dealt with the spirit there, and took the territory, giants began to rise, doors broke open, and the crowd doubled until the crusade had to move to a stadium.

Quietness Is Not Peace

Even the graveyard is quiet. If you have not seen battles, it means you are not a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Some people stay so long in undisturbed quiet that they mistake it for peace.

Speak To The Wind, Rebuke The Sea

Jesus spoke to the wind but rebuked the sea, because the sea powers the wind. Some matters call only for confession, other matters call for war. Story: after his daughter's worship video went viral, the preacher was warned in the spirit to go into warfare, an unexplained attack followed soon after which only he and his wife understood as spiritual.
