Apostle Femi Lazarus Preaching - Why Our Forefathers Lived Longer and We Are Dying
Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • Modern civilization has taken us far from nature and created a system of sick care, not health care.
  • Our African ancestors' food preparation methods were scientifically aligned with our digestive systems and DNA.
  • The closer we stay to natural, ancestral foods, the healthier we become — our bodies understand and assimilate them.
  • Food plays a critical role in fertility, hormonal balance, and even reversing conditions like autism and dyslexia.
  • Biblical dietary instructions, particularly in Leviticus, had biological wisdom behind them that modern science is only now rediscovering.

Q: So you believe our civilization is killing us slowly?

Our civilization is killing us faster than any other thing. Right now, we have sick care — not health care. And we seem to believe that the more civilized we become, the farther away from nature we should get.

Q: What about the three square meals concept?

The three square meals is a very big facade. It is a Rockefeller project — to sell cereals. And cereals have no nutrition. They are just empty food. Here in Africa, our food is nutrient dense and actually gluten-free.

Now we are eating vegetable oils that are just meant to be used for car engines. We left our palm oil. There was a research paper that demonized our palm oil — but when you read it carefully, the author was actually talking about palm kernel oil. She wrote "palm olein" and that was how our palm oil was demonized.

The Science of Ancestral Eating

There is a principle: if you study nature, you see that everything God did is a cycle — the water cycle, the crop cycle, different cycles. You see the principle of sustainability integrated everywhere. Everything the fish needs to survive is in the water. And that doesn't exclude man. That is why God had to first create the environment that man needs to interact with before He brought man. It's the wisdom of God.

The closer we are to the natural things God made Himself, the healthier our lives become. The more we go back to the food that our ancestors ate — which our DNA knows — the healthier we are.

You find that a 70-year-old in the village looks way younger than a 70-year-old in the city. Because the person in the village is walking barefoot (grounding), breathing clean air, living amongst trees, eating clean and seasonal food — not highly processed. In the township, we don't even eat food in season. We have watermelon all year round. We have oranges all year round.

Seasonal Foods Are Medicinal

For every season, a specific fruit comes out. When it becomes dry — harmattan season — you see lots of oranges. Why? Oranges contain vitamin C. The air is dusty and your immunity needs support. The abalumo — the African star apple — comes out at that same time. Abalumo has been proven to have 100% more vitamin C than the orange.

Plantain and banana are more available around August and September — time of feasting. The yams, potatoes, cassava, plantains are being harvested. Then when planting seasons come, food is reduced — and our bodies go into fasting mode, which is very very good.

Movement precedes feeding in the village. They wake up, sweep the house, go to the farm, walk, and eat around 11 or 12. But in the city, we wake up and immediately have breakfast.

What Palm Oil Knows That Vegetable Oil Doesn't

In Western Africa, we have a lot of palm oil. How do we cook? High heat. Palm oil is the only oil that can withstand high heat. The Greeks ate with olive oil — but olive oil cannot stand heat. Now we are eating foreign foods that our body and our DNA don't understand. When you put that food into your body, your body is confused. When your body is confused, inflammation and disease follow. We start having diseases that were not recorded during our ancestors' time.

The best oils: palm oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and animal fat — tallow from cow, lard from pork. Your body digests animal fat quickly. It can stand any form of heat. Your body understands it better.

Because we are not feeding our brain the fat it needs, our hormones are imbalanced. We are having issues with infertility — someone who is 25 years old already has aspermia. The body is eating foods it doesn't understand.

Miscarriages and Male Nutrition

Research shows that 90% of the time, the reason women have miscarriages is because of the men — denatured and weak sperm. And that boils down to food. How your wife responds in pregnancy is 100% dependent on your sperm. If your wife is going to have a terrible first trimester, it's on you.

When men eat junk, drink a lot of alcohol, consume fizzy drinks, caffeine, pastries, gluten-laden food, tobacco — if you put their sperm under a microscope, it won't look healthy. Blank bullets and deformed sperm. And the way God created the female body, a healthy woman's body is meant to reject deformed sperm. That is why some women experience miscarriages — it is the body repelling what it knows to be abnormal.

If men start eating healthy and doing weighted movements — squats with dumbbells — it builds testosterone and builds healthy sperm.

Reversing Autism with Food

An autistic daughter — nonverbal until she was 4 years old. Sat down and said: This is a brain thing. I can feed the brain the food it needs. And it is going to correct itself because the body was created to heal itself.

  • All forms of sugar out — sweetened only with controlled dates.
  • Lots of fermented food: millet, sorghum, fonio, fermented cassava.
  • No cereals — fermented food made from scratch.
  • Lots of vegetables with original butter, wagashi (cottage cheese from cow milk).
  • Palm nut soup with fermented iru, black pepper and local spices — to address brain oxidation.
  • Omega-3, 6, and 9 from local fish: catfish, panla, mackerel — steamed with vegetables including ugwu and ugwu seeds blended with the bones for calcium.

Right before our eyes, she started talking coherently. She stopped flapping her hands. We no longer needed noise-cancellation headphones. Now she is playing drums, playing violin, dancing to music. The autism totally reversed.

Ogbono and Biblical Wisdom

Ogbono is a powerhouse for anyone who has diabetes or hypertension. Don't blend it in an electric blender — the heat kills the active component. Use a cold stone blender, dry it in your kitchen (not under the sun), store in a glass jar, and take a teaspoon in water first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Ogbono also helps in reducing weight — what Forever Living Products branded and sold under a scientific name was just our ogbono.

When the children of Israel were having the Passover, God said they should eat the roasted lamb with bitter herbs. Do you know why? For digestion. Bitter herbs help the meat digest very fast — so nobody has constipation or acid reflux while traveling. That is why nkwobi and isiewu have bitter herbs on top — our ancestors already knew bioavailability, they knew chemistry, they knew physics.

The waakye in Ghana is cooked with sorghum leaves. Those leaves make the beans and rice digestible — so you eat waakye without gaseous emissions. Our ancestors removed the skin from beans for moi moi and akara because the peel makes digestion harder. The omi ogi — the water from sifting pap — has serious prebiotics. Don't throw it away. Pour into glass bottles and drink it first thing in the morning.

If you follow what God said we should eat in Leviticus, it is for our own health. The shrimps and prawns God said not to eat are ocean cleaners. Scaled fish were recommended because their scales prevent the absorption of whatever they swim through. God saw the end — that our water bodies were going to be polluted.

The Bible is not only a spiritual book. It is also scientific. God gave us all these things naturally and freely, and we don't seem to be maximizing them because we have been brainwashed not to heal our bodies by ourselves. And the things to heal our bodies are just available. They are lying right there.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
