Kingdom advancement prayer is every believer's responsibility

When you pray the Lord's prayer, Matthew 6:9-10, you say thy kingdom come first, before you ask for your daily bread. Pushing his agenda on earth is the core of the prayer life of every believer. Ignorance is no excuse. Without knowing this, prayer can become an endless travail without any harvest.

Among the blessings of kingdom advancement priority is God taking over your fight and fighting your battle for you. When you are out to serve him, he takes over your battle. Matthew 6:33, Psalm 34:8-10. When God takes over your battle, the devil is out of the equation.

What we must pray for as members of this church

1. We must pray for all our new converts and new members, that they be established in this church for life. God does not only want people saved, he wants them to abide. Colossians 4:12, Galatians 4:19. Follow up is not dragging yourself house to house, it is effectual fervent prayer.
2. We must pray for members' challenges to be turned into testimonies, thereby establishing them in the faith. Philippians 1:19, Galatians 6:2. As you engage for someone's turnaround, you have your own turnaround in return.

When we pray for new converts, we shut the door against the manipulation of the devil targeted at drawing them back from the faith. Luke 11:21-22.

Illustrations of God taking over the battle

When the heart of Israel turned after God, he took over their age-long battle of 400 years and brought them out like a dream of the night. There was a strong man tormenting a family; during the prayer and fasting, God took over and three of the tormentors perished.

David prayed three times a day, Psalm 55:17, and God said, "I have found David my servant... with whom my hand shall be established... the enemy shall not exact upon him." That is the lot of every genuine servant of God: he takes over your battle and messes up your enemy.

What we pray for others, God makes happen for us

The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, Job 42:10. Ephesians 6:8: whatever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord. Mark friends and neighbors who need rescue and take them up in prayer, that is sowing spiritual seed into the lives of others.

Prayer investment always returns with open rewards

Every acceptable spiritual investment on the altar of prayer guarantees open rewards. You don't have to announce your prayer, the rewards will announce it for you. Matthew 6:6, Matthew 6:17-18: your father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Jesus came for one thing, to bear witness unto the truth, John 18:37. Whoever wants to turn their life over to Christ, whoever wants to rededicate their life, was invited to come forward and pray the sinner's prayer, receive forgiveness, and be washed in the blood of Jesus.
