God's Ordained Place Is the High Place

Our objective is to understand the pathway to our high destiny in God. Matthew 5:14: you are the light of the world — a city set on a hill cannot be hid. Isaiah 2:2: the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills. The high place in the realm of the spirit, and in the material realm, is our realm.

The best example of someone who was high in all realms was Daniel. Spiritually, Daniel was the head of the magicians and astrologers in Babylon — not because he was a witch or magician, but because he had more spiritual capacity than the occult people. Daniel was also the head of the academicians and the head of the politicians. He was a practical standard of what God intends for his people: in any realm we meet people of the world, we are above them — spiritually, financially, materially, mentally, academically, in every single realm.

Recap: The First Pathways

We have covered the following pathways to high destiny:

1. The Pursuit of God

   Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything that people are dying to get will be yours.

2. The Fear of God

   Job feared God and that fear made him the greatest man in all the east.

3. The Voice of God's Direction

   That voice of God brought Abraham out of obscurity and turned him into a generational celebrity.

4. The Mercy of God

   The mercy of God was behind the making of Jacob, of Solomon, of David. David experienced what was called the sure mercies of David, that positioned him above everyone of his generation.

5. Vision for the High Place

   You cannot find yourself somewhere you don't see yourself. You cannot consistently see yourself in the pit and find yourself at the top. You have to see there to get there.

6. The Right Company

   Show me who you call friend and I will show you where you find yourself in a short time.

7. The Acceptance of Responsibility

   The acceptance of responsibility is the establishment of authority. Accept responsibility means: do what others avoid, go where others don't want to go, take the initiative.

Number Eight: The Way of Excellence

To give the best to life is to get the best out of life. The way of quality is the way to authority. Show me a man, show me a woman of quality — I will show you a person of authority. Those who sow excellence reap eminence. Proverbs 22:29: seest thou a man diligent in his business, he will stand before kings.

Whatever you do — ministry, business, academics — whatever realm you are in, give excellence, give quality. You cannot do things anyhow and get anywhere in life. Those who do things anyhow don't go anywhere.

• Example 1: Daniel. Daniel 6:1-3 — Daniel had the spirit of excellency and was set over the realm of Babylon by the spirit of excellence.
• Example 2: David. 1 Samuel 16:17-18 — He was the best instrumentalist in Israel and he found himself in the palace.
• Example 3: Joseph. Genesis 41:37-38 — All the magicians of Egypt could not offer what Joseph offered. Excellence.

Many people are praying, but their lives are filled with mediocrity and God's hands are tied. You cannot ask God to place you on top of those who are better than you in every way. Make it easy for God to take you up by providing excellence.

Number Nine: The Provision of Generational Solutions

The offering of generational answers and solutions is behind the making of generational assets. If you are a generational answer, you become a generational asset. Nobody can say "who is this?" when you are offering answers to your generation. The provision of solution is the foundation of elevation in life. Those who give answers don't lack answers; those who give solutions don't lack solutions.

The value of your life is not determined by the clothes you wear or the price of your car. The value of your life is determined by the problem you solve, the questions you answer.

• Joseph provided a generational solution in Egypt — the technology of preserving food for 14 years through the famine — that took him to the palace. (Genesis 41:36-44)
• David provided the solution to a national challenge called Goliath. (1 Samuel 17:34-49)
• David in the palace: 1 Samuel 16:18 — He was summoned not for his status but because he could solve something nobody else on the ground could solve. A newcomer overtook everyone who was there before him because he could answer a question they could not answer.

Don't frown when people come from behind you and appear to move in front of you. Ask yourself: what is he solving that I am not solving? Not every promotion of someone over you is the fault of the devil.

Number Ten: The Way of Love and Mercy

Love and mercy demonstrated will be your ladder to the top. The reason why many people's lives are where they are is because the heart for people is not there.

• Joseph demonstrated love and mercy towards the butler and the baker in prison. He saw they were sad and had compassion. Any other person could have overlooked them — they were all prisoners. But no, he had care and mercy. That compassion was the link that took him from prison to the palace, because the butler remembered the man who loved them enough not to leave them depressed. (Genesis 40:1-8)
• Nehemiah demonstrated love of mercy toward his people. When he heard the report of the Jews in affliction and Jerusalem's walls broken down, he sat down and wept. That demonstration of love took him to Judah and made him the governor. (Nehemiah 1:1-4)
• David, when he saw the children of Israel under the oppression of Goliath, said, who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God? Compassion for the people activated his potential. (1 Samuel 17:24-26)

Five Truths About Love and Mercy

1. Love and mercy are the ladder for generational leadership — not position-occupiers, not disastrous office-holders, but people with a leadership mantle and a genuine heart for people.
2. A heart for people gives you height among people. Your heart for people is a determinant of your height among people. It is natural; you don't even struggle.
3. People are not influenced by your position. They are influenced and moved by your disposition. What vibe do people feel when they come near you?
4. People don't care what you know until they know that you care. (John Maxwell) Don't work on your position; work on your disposition.
5. Love and mercy activate potentials, opportunities, possibilities, and power. Matthew 14:14: Jesus was moved with compassion and he healed. When Joseph had compassion on the butler and baker, it caused his gift of dream interpretation to flow afresh. When David had compassion for the people, opportunity opened — he saw the stone, he saw the forehead, everything just opened up. Your gifts are waiting for your love. Your mantles are waiting for the love in your heart to be triggered. Even the prophetic flows more deeply as compassion deepens.

Love and Mercy Establish the Presence of God

Show me a man who walks in love, who has pity and mercy on people — when you come around him, you feel God. 1 John 4:8: he that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. Joseph's heart was filled with love and in Genesis 39:2 and 21, the Lord was with Joseph. Show me someone who loves God and cares for people — you will feel God when you come around him.

Love and Mercy Attract God's Mercifulness

Are you looking for mercy from God? Show mercy to people. Psalm 18:25: with the merciful, thou wilt show yourself merciful. Show your children mercy. Show your spouse mercy. Show the people of your life mercy. Don't be that brutal, bitter personality.

It is possible to be a lion — Jesus was the lion of the tribe of Judah — but he was also a lamb. There are areas to be a lion and areas to be a lamb. Face to face with the forces of darkness, let the lion roar. But in your mercy, there is still wisdom. Show mercy but walk in wisdom.

Love and mercy demonstrated is your ladder to the top. Today mercy has come for somebody.
