A Quick Recap: Be Ye Transformed Part 1
We began a series of discussions under the theme Be Ye Transformed. Romans 12:1-2 — I beseech you brethren by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice unto God which is your reasonable act of service. Do not be conformed to this world, but be ye transformed — metamorphoo — by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove that which is good, that acceptable and perfect will of God.
Transformation has to do with a thorough and sometimes sudden dramatic change in form, in appearance, in nature, and in the character of something or someone to produce an improved or superior version. For us who are in the faith, transformation is the process that evolves or transits the believer so that you manifest the life of Christ in experience.
Transformation happens at two levels:
- Personal transformation — where the Holy Ghost in partnership with the ministry of the Word does a work within an individual to produce the life, the wisdom, and the essence of Christ through that individual.
- Territorial transformation — where the one who is now transformed, refined, and reformed becomes a catalyst and partner in birthing God's program across territories.
There is a three-step journey that transits a believer from infancy to becoming a witness. God introduces three ministries that transit the believer to maturity: the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the ministry of prayer and the Word together, and the ministry of a teaching priest.
Why Transformation?
Transformation is the price for dominion. The real price for dominion is not desire. The real price for dominion is not even hunger. It is transformation. The extent to which you manifest victory and dominion in experience, not just in word, comes through transformation. There is a version of you that can birth the program of God. There is a version of you that cannot.
One of the greatest ways God answers prayer is to cause the person praying to grow into the version that allows the prayer to be answered. An heir, for as long as he is a child, defers nothing from a slave — the Bible says, even though he be Lord of all.
Salvation gives you access, but it takes transformation to walk into the experience of the riches embedded within the God-life. Ephesians 4:18 — Paul said, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God. Ignorance can alienate a man from the experience that is in the life of God. Two people can have the same phone, the same make. Buying the phone gives access to the possibilities it can provide. But whether or not you walk in the experience of it depends entirely on your understanding of how to operate it.
The Four Steps of Transformation
Transformation that produces fruit — fruit of victory and dominion — is a four-step process.
- Recognition and Awareness. The word logizomai — to reckon, to come into the consciousness of a reality. It is difficult for people to enter an experience whose availability and benefit they are not even aware of. When Jesus introduced the kingdom, He took time to contrast the advantage of being in the kingdom versus operating in the world system. That was what led to the Beatitudes — a contrast of kingdoms.
- Access Superior Information. God made many lights, but He made two great lights. One to rule in the day, the other to rule in the night. Paul says, even among stars, one differs from another in glory — not in size, in glory. You must contend for high-level spiritual illumination. 1 Corinthians 8:2 — if any man thinks he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. You can be the best of the mediocre. You can be the most enlightened still among those who are largely ignorant. Press for high-level illumination.
- Build Conviction. Paul said, I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded. Conviction is where knowledge translates from information into a belief system. It becomes a stronghold — it lays hold of your mind. Victory can start as information but must become a belief system. Dominion can start as information but must become conviction.
- Application and Conformity. Now that you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. The Word did not profit those who heard it because it was not mixed with faith. Knowledge applied is what produces transformation.

Today: Transforming Territories
Isaiah 58:12 — thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.
God transforms men so that He can use transformed men to transform territories.
Only transformed men can transform territories. A saved man in an unsaved territory is still a victim. Lot was a righteous man, but he was domiciled in a territory that was perverse. Eventually he became a victim of that territory. The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were determined to be uncompromising, but because they were in Babylon — a place inconsistent with their values — they became victims, albeit they received a miracle. Daniel was excellent, yet once upon a time in his life he was thrown into the lion's den.
So it matters that territories are changed and transformed, not just individuals. When God transforms an individual, He empowers that individual to become a catalyst for the transformation of society.
Isaiah 6:5-8 — Isaiah said, woe is me, for I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips. A seraph flew to him with a live coal from the altar, laid it upon his tongue, and said, your iniquity is taken away from you and your sin is purged. Then came the mandate. The Lord said, whom shall I send and who will go for us? And he said, here am I. Send me.
The business of "send me" was not there first. It was first the business of purification and transformation. It takes beyond availability to be used by God. 2 Timothy 2:20-21 — in a great house there are vessels of gold, of silver, of wood, and of clay. Some are unto honor, some unto dishonor. If a man will purge himself from these things, he will become a vessel unto honor, meet for the master's use.
The Three-Dimensional Great Commission
God's program is divided into three. The concept of the Great Commission is sincere in the church but often incomplete — and that incompleteness has produced defective, imbalanced believers.
- A program for the unbelieving world — soul-winning, evangelism, global missions. God desires that all men be saved.
- A program for the church — discipleship. Attaining maturity and stature through the sound communication of doctrine, the principles of the kingdom, wisdom for living, and a Word-compliant worldview.
- A program for society — territorial transformation. God's mandate for the cosmos.
World evangelization + discipleship + territorial transformation = the Great Commission.

When people are brought in and not refined, they become a headache. Catching the fish was not a disadvantage, but leaving the fish unattended becomes one. Once we bring them in, discipleship must kick in immediately. Jeremiah 3:15 — I will give you pastors according to my heart and they will feed you with knowledge and understanding. When believers are transited through discipleship to maturity, a vision is cast before them and they can serve the purposes of God across the geography of their witness.
The kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom, but it has physical infrastructures through which its purposes are established upon the earth. Three principal channels:
- Men — when God wants to establish His kingdom within any territory, He works through men. "I sought for a man."
- Mindsets and belief systems — belief systems are evangelists. They promote a man's influence without him even being present. The Bible says let this mind be in you which was also in Christ. Jesus did not just win because He came from heaven. There was an orientation that could not allow Him to be defeated.
- Institutions — the assignment of institutions is to perpetuate thoughts, perpetuate ideas, perpetuate value systems.
Five Keys to Transforming Territories
Warfare and Intercession
Acts 19:13-20. In Ephesus, the confrontation with the sons of Sceva triggered a response across the entire community. They submitted their magic books, they burned them — and the Bible says so mightily grew the word within that territory and it prevailed.
There are demonic forces assigned to territories. They have a singular assignment: to stop every kingdom advance. There are demonic spirits assigned to families, to individuals, to offices — not just individuals, to offices. There are demonic spirits assigned to mantles. Whoever carries that mantle has that spirit to fight.
Warfare for the believer is not about fighting to see if you will win. Warfare is taking advantage of the resources of the kingdom to enforce, in experience, that which has been finished in Christ. Your assignment in warfare is not to fight — it is to establish and to make good, here and now, that which is already finished. The basis for engagement is what Christ has done, not what you want to do.
Living in denial is not victory — it is being a victim. There are real spirits, real demons. Satan is not joking. When Jesus walked on earth, Satan came to Him. He left Him for a season, then returned — through Peter, then through Judas. He will come through discouragement. He will come through a family problem. He will attempt to buffet your health. But the Bible says, thanks be to God who causes us — not sometimes, but always — to triumph. 1 Corinthians 15:57.
There are territories that will never know revival, never know transformation, never experience growth, until God raises prophetic intercessors who understand the art of the altar to dislodge the spirits assigned there. Principles only work if spirits are not fighting you. The presence of a spirit can alter the outcome of principles even when correctly engaged.
Jesus taught us to pray: your kingdom come, your will be done in earth. Not on earth — in earth. The first earth being you, and then your territory. It is your responsibility to walk in partnership with the Word and the Spirit to enforce the will of God.
The greatest way to destroy prayer fire is offense. John the Baptist was a man of prayer, the greatest prophet the Bible declared. But offense locked him up until he was beheaded.
I pray for you — whatever has fought your prayer altar is a real attack on your destiny and an attack on the territory you are responsible for. In the name of Jesus, let there be fresh fire upon your prayer life. I receive grace to pray. The Bible says if any among you is afflicted, let him pray. Affliction is anything that is a threat to the liberty you have in Christ. Your official response to it is to pray. Amen.
A Display of Character and Moral Excellence
Philippians 2:14-16 — do all things without murmuring or disputing, that you may be blameless and harmless, sons of God without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life.
When there is only one righteous person among fifty, it does not produce the effect. But when there are forty righteous among fifty — the presence becomes transformative. We need believers to rise in mass, everywhere, reflecting the same order of character and moral excellence.
Consecration has two dimensions that the church has emphasized only one of. Consecration involves abstinence from — but it also involves devotion unto. You can abstain from and still not be consecrated. Abstinence is only one part. Devotion unto is the other. We are called out of into — not just out of, to remain nowhere, but out of one experience into another. Out of a life of licentiousness and sin, into a life of surrender and devotion.
Let it be different when it comes to you. You are a living epistle — not just when you preach, but in the love that emanates from you, the fruit of the Spirit at work in you.
A Display of Divine Intelligence, Resourcefulness, and Productivity
Genesis 41:29-57 — Joseph standing before Pharaoh did not just use the prophetic for nothing. Once the interpretation was delivered, wisdom took over. He began to suggest solutions. The idea was not just to tell the dream — the idea was to translate the dream into a solution that served everybody.
That king-priest dimension must be restored to the body. It starts with priesthood, but it must not end at the altar. It must end in dominion within the cosmos. Your prayer life and fasting must translate into wisdom — wisdom that can be demonstrated in your secular life.
Believers are kings and priests. The nation of Israel — every time God wanted to raise a mighty man, God would teach him the ordinances of the altar, then send him to learn wisdom. That is what happened to Moses. It was David who changed the narrative because God's people, until David, were like vagabonds. They knew how to cry unto God for bread, but they did not know how to create infrastructure that perpetuated wealth and influence.
Show the value of your being prayerful through the wisdom it brings to your office. You are king-priest — not king or priest. King-priest. If you are talking to a captain of industry, import the wisdom of the Spirit. Why would kings look to you if you have nothing to offer?
When the glory of God comes, it brings two things: encounters and interventions. Interventions bring healings, breakthroughs, and deliverances. Encounters carry the riches of His glory — at least eight resources. Among them: wisdom, understanding, and skill. There is skill that is a learned ability, but there is skill that is imparted by God — a quickening of your understanding in a way that is extraordinary.
You can be healed and still go back to being a victim because you did not maximize the glory. You opened yourself for interventions but not for encounters.
There is a spirit in man. Job 32:8 — and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding. As a banker, as a teacher, as a business owner — let your results show. The economy of the kingdom starts from the altar. When the glory rests upon you, it does something that makes you win in business, in creativity, in every sphere. Witty inventions. Applications that solve human problems. Darkness is why you were sent. The definition of the world is darkness without us. We are light. We are salt.
Isaiah 2:2-3 — he shall be exalted above all mountains and all nations shall flow to it. They will say, come, let us go to the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways. A generation is coming — not just church members, but refined, educated, enlightened, thoroughly resourceful believers. You will speak to a government for one hour and shift a political climate — not just prophetically, but intellectually, importing solutions beyond what the textbooks carry.
Rising to Positions of Influence and Leadership
There are two ways God's program advances within a territory: evangelism and influence. Not evangelism alone. We need influence. Influence is the ability to cause men to buy into your convictions and ideologies without using force or cruelty. We must become stakeholders in the decisions and policies that control society. You are either a stakeholder or a victim.
Economic decisions, macroeconomic decisions, are being made that will shape the destinies of our children and children's children — and many believers are standing in the corridors, never at the table, becoming victims of the conclusions.
Because of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, a king passed a policy that if anyone was found not serving the God of these three men, judgment would come. That is what it means to have influence at a policy level. We must rise to positions where we can say, this law affects our children, and speak empirically, intelligently, giving data-driven reasons. Not fanatically — empirically and intelligently.
As anointed as Joseph was, someone needed to be close to the ears of Pharaoh first. Proximity to power must be intentional.
Giving — Community Development and Revealing the Love of Jesus
Do not undermine this. Giving, community development programs, and charity were a signature of the early church. We must not just preach — we must reveal the love of Jesus. The way you win a hungry man is not to preach first. Buy bread, put scriptures inside, then give the man. Bread plus scripture equals salvation. The church must be known not just for words but for deeds.
The Four Institutions Satan Targets in Every Territory
There are at least seven institutions that shape any society. Four are Satan's primary targets:
- The family — his initial point of attack
- The educational system — where worldviews are formed
- The economy — because the rich rule over the poor, and a borrower is always a slave to the lender
- Government — whoever makes policy makes everyone else cry, regardless of their own stature
A Muslim selling oranges on the street is thinking about politics. They have been trained that whoever sits on the seat of power will make a professor beg. It is a strategy. They walk their way into power and do not stop. But once many believers get into a place, we become comfortable, trusting that God is everywhere and everything will resolve. And eventually we become victims.
God desires to use us. But He needs the transformed version of us. Then we can transform territories — one territory after the other, beginning from our families to our workplaces to the ends of the earth.
Welcome to a new season of impact. Impact by grace, impact by wisdom. I release upon you the grace to submit to transformation — transformation through the Word, transformation that leaves you productive, resourceful, consecrated, refined. May God send you to areas where you will do much for the kingdom — in ministry, in banking, in business, in politics, in the name of Jesus. For His name's sake, may He promote you. May He elevate you, that you will be like the stars in the firmament, shining bright and bringing glory to the name of the Lord. The Lord bless you in Jesus' name.
