Giving as honorable seed

Deuteronomy 16:17 — every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord.

God deserves honorable seed, the way a son honors a father and a servant honors a master. A prophet rebuked Israel for offering the Lord polluted bread, blind, lame, and sick sacrifices, things they would not dare offer to their governor. Don't give God leftover. Honor the Lord with your substance, plan it, program it.

How does God bless?

  1. Through the works of our hands

God's blessings are released on labor, not idleness. Abraham didn't go to bed, he engaged in cattle business and God blessed the business. There is no place for doing nothing in the covenant and still expecting blessing.

Proverbs 13:11 — wealth gotten by vanity shall diminish, but he that gathers by labor shall increase. Labor is not an enemy of favor, favor enhances the value of labor. Joseph washed plates and cleaned floors, and favor came on him and handed him the household. Abraham was a hard worker, Jacob a creative worker, Isaac a worker without natural talent. All our covenant fathers were walking fathers.

  2. Through divine ideas

God gave ideas to Jacob and to Joseph before Pharaoh. Divine idea can explode into financial fortune. Every empire is built on ideas, and there is no comparing divine ideas with other levels of ideas. Tithing opens the windows of heaven, and what comes out is likened to the Holy Spirit, who gives quick understanding.

Isaiah chapter 11 — the spirit of wisdom, of knowledge, of understanding, of counsel, of might, and of the fear of the Lord makes a man of quick understanding.

Haggai 1:3-13 — kingdom advancement investment also opens the windows of heaven, but where tithing brings the blessing and ensures it, kingdom giving opens the heavens for divine ideas and secrets.

  3. Through divine favor

As with Joseph, in the midst of misfortune, favor distinguishes a man.

Song of Solomon 8:6 — destroy him not, for there is a blessing in him.

Favor kept Joseph from death in the pit, gave him victory in Potiphar's house, and put him in charge in the prison before taking him to the palace. Joseph was hardworking wherever he was, and favor kept catapulting him.

  4. Through priestly blessings

Melchizedek proclaimed a blessing on Abraham: "Blessed be Abraham of God, possessor of heaven and earth." Abraham possessed the earth practically, and through Christ, believers as Abraham's seed inherit both the earthly and the heavenly side of that blessing.

Hebrews 7:7 — without all contradiction, the less is blessed of the better. You must acknowledge you are less than the source God is using to bless you, or the blessing will not flow.

Prophetic proclamations that stick

By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was Israel preserved. Believe the Lord your God and you shall be established, believe His prophets and you shall prosper. It is our sense of value that determines the flow of virtue.

Covenant day of favor

A lifetime of labor can never compare with one day of favor from God. Israel labored 400 years in Egypt, but one day favor landed and the wealth of Egypt was supernaturally transferred to them. We don't wait for favor, we entreat it, provoke it, trigger it.

Psalm 45:12 — even the rich among the people shall entreat your favor.

Channels for provoking the favor of God

  1. The fear of God

Joseph said, "But I fear God," and favor chased him all through his life. Genesis 42:18. Daniel was brought into favor with the chief of the eunuchs the same way. Psalm 5:12 — Lord, you will bless the righteous, with favor you will compass him as with a shield.

  2. Growing love for God

Love is a spiritual virtue with unlimited capacity for growth. Ephesians 3:17-19 — that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love may comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of the love of God. Don't let go your first love, or you lose your place. David, a man after God's own heart, was not even listed among the candidates for king, yet he was sent for and anointed. 1 Samuel 13:14, 1 Chronicles 28:4 — God liked David and chose him over his brothers. Favor will find every true lover of God.

  3. Increasing revelation

Proverbs 13:14-15 — good understanding gives favor, but the way of the transgressor is hard. Every new light opens a new chapter as you choose to walk in it.

  4. Delight in kingdom advancement

Psalm 35:27 — let the Lord be magnified, who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. Psalm 102:13-15 — the set time to favor Zion is come, for your servants take pleasure in her stones. Fearful favor, the kind the world has never seen, is the portion of those committed to kingdom advancement.

  5. A lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise

Thanksgiving and praise provoke divine favor. In Esther chapter 5, Esther put on her royal apparel, the garment of praise, and obtained favor that ended the enemy's plan against the Jews.

Isaiah 61:3 — beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

Mark 6:21-23 — Herod swore to give the dancing girl up to half his kingdom. Psalm 147 — praise is comely, pleasant, and delicious to God, and it triggers favor. David was a praising addict, and favor surrounded him. Don't subject yourself to complaint, it only complicates your matter. It is great to praise God when things are great, but praising Him when they are not is what gets them back to order.

Anointing oil ministration

Exodus 30:31 — this shall be a holy anointing oil throughout your generations, a transgenerational mystery seen through Old Testament kings, the Good Samaritan's oil and wine, and the disciples anointing the sick.

Mark 6:7, 12-13, James 5:14

  1. The yoke destroying power

Isaiah 10:27 — every yoke of misfortune is destroyed.
  2. The breakthrough power

Isaiah 45 — as with Cyrus, God breaks the bars of iron and gates of brass. No more breakdowns.
  3. The healing power

James 5:14-15 — every sickness that came to church today will not return home with you.
  4. The resurrection power

Whatever was lost in the battles of life shall be restored.
  5. The oil of joy and rejoicing

Isaiah 61:3, Psalm 45:7 — the oil of gladness, a fountain of joy. The siege of depression is over.

  • The siege of misfortune, sickness, disease, depression, marital delay, and joblessness is over.
  • Every door shut by misfortune reopens, and everything stolen is restored.
  • Every failing organ is revitalized, every terminal disease flushed out, and every planting of the devil uprooted.

Salvation call

Being born again is the first step into every provision of the kingdom, including favor. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Repent, believe, and you are forgiven, washed, and born again.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
