Hebrews 11:3 (NLT) — by faith we understand the universe was formed at God's command; what we see did not come from anything visible.
Faith is acting as if it is so, when it seems not to be so, for it to be so, because it is so. When God speaks, a thing begins to exist spiritually from that moment.
A 17-Year Prophecy
At a 1982 prayer meeting, a prophetic word described a tent seating 50,000 and wings taking the gospel around the world. Read aloud again 17 years later, in 1999, at the foundation-laying of that very building.
Faith Is Trust
Faith is trusting absolutely in God to the point of basing decisions and actions on who he is and what he said — the way a small child jumps from a table simply because a parent said to.
Abraham: Named Before He Became
Romans 4:13, 17-18 (MSG) — Abraham was made father of many peoples not because he earned it, but because God made something out of him when he was a nobody. He was first named father, then became a father.
- Jacob was prophesied over in the womb, but named by the circumstances of his birth. God later changed his name to change his trajectory.
- 25 years passed between the promise and Isaac's birth.
- Romans 4:19 — Abraham did not focus on his own impotence or Sarah's infertility.
Every negative label anyone has put on you, by the blood of the covenant, is destroyed. Receive a new name, a new identity, from God's mouth.
The Battle of Focus
Peter asked for revelation before stepping onto the water: "If you're the one, tell me to come." He sank the moment his focus shifted from the word to the wind.
2 Corinthians 5:7 — "we walk by faith, not by sight." Numbers 21 — Israelites bitten by snakes were told not to look at what was biting them, but at the bronze serpent raised on the pole, a picture of Christ.
- Every form of distraction comes to an end now.
- The season of remembrance has come — what God said before begins to ring in your heart again.
- Even if you sank before, you are floating back up now.
- Psalm 107:20 — "He sent his word and healed them." Your healing is declared by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus paid for my sins. I ask you to forgive me and to accept me as your child. Thank you for hearing my prayer in Jesus' name.
