The Ministry of Teaching Priests

Other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. The word is the sure foundation of every provision in the kingdom, and it shows us where that foundation is. Anointed teachers occupy a very strategic place in actualizing God's agenda for our lives.

Isaiah 30:20-21 promises that though the Lord gives the bread of adversity, He will not remove your teachers from you; your eyes will see them, and your ears will hear a word behind you saying, "This is the way."

Teachers are God's bailout agents from the crisis of life. 2 Chronicles 15:3 records a long season when Israel was without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law, until trouble drove them to turn to the Lord and seek Him. Without a teaching priest, there was no peace to anyone going out or coming in, and great anguish rested on every inhabitant of the earth, nation destroyed by nation, city by city, for lack of that ministry.

Jeremiah 3:15-16 promises pastors after God's own heart who will feed His people with knowledge and understanding, so that they multiply and increase in the land. Teachers are story-changing agents. As gifted as Daniel was, Daniel 9:2 shows even he understood by books. Anointed teaching enhances our spiritual understanding, and it is through revelation that we take delivery of our inheritance.

The flock must desire to be fed. The word comes knocking on the door of your heart; if you open it, it comes to change your story. If you do not open it, you stay where you are. One may lead a horse to water, but no one can force it to drink. It is not water being forced into you; it is you panting to drink of the water of life.

We are in the last days, and doctrines of devils are flying everywhere. Every truth not grounded in the word is fake and falsehood. 2 Timothy 4:3-5 and Titus 1:11-12 both warn of self-styled teachers who teach things they ought not, for money's sake, subverting whole households.

Heaven's Wealth Is Entrusted for His Purpose

Heaven's wealth is primarily entrusted into our hands for God's purpose, and that must sink deep into our hearts. When you fall out of that purpose, there is always a crash. In Luke 12:16-21, the rich fool laid up treasure for himself and was not rich toward God, and the same danger faces anyone whose prosperity forgets the purpose behind it. Luke 16:11 asks who will commit true riches to those who are not first faithful with worldly wealth.

There is a true riches: the kind that makes rich and adds no sorrow, that is fear-free and future-secured, that answers at every point of need before the need even arises, as you align with God's eternal purpose. He that gives to the poor lends to the Lord, and what is given will be given back again.

God's purpose for empowering us with wealth is to build His kingdom on the earth. In Haggai chapter 1, the Lord's people sought their own houses while His house lay in ruins, and their wages went into a bag with holes. The same principle stands today: when God's house is ignored, we stay in trouble. My city, through prosperity, shall yet be spread abroad, Zechariah 1:17, and this gospel of the kingdom must first be preached to all nations before the end comes, Matthew 24:14.

God said He is not looking for how to prosper His people; He already has the silver and the gold. He is only looking for who can be trusted, and to what level. The end-time financial fortune agenda will only answer in the lives of those who can be trusted, regardless of what denomination they belong to.

Requirements for Financial Fortune

  1. Consistent Obedience to His Word

His commandments are not a burden, 1 John 5:3, and every man is to give as God has blessed him, Deuteronomy 16:17. Begin with your widow's mite; it will return as a fortune, as with the widow of Zarephath who fed the prophet first and was sustained through years of famine.

    • Two enemies to watch for: procrastination, and negative imagination shaped by the economic climate. Start your journey from wherever you presently are; you do not begin in the middle. Every generation of covenant people has faced famine and still triumphed, from Abraham's day to Jacob's to Joseph's. Right standing in the covenant secures your inheritance in hard times, Psalm 37:18-19, and no economic circumstance can nullify the covenant of abundance, since it is as steadfast as God's covenant with day and night, Jeremiah 33:20-21.

  2. Seeking God First With Our Resources

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things, including money, will be added. Laying up treasure in heaven includes seeking God first with our finances. This is a portion given to secure God's blessing on the remainder that is kept.

  3. A Joyful Heart in Giving

A joyful heart guarantees a harvest on what is sown, while a mournful attitude blocks the blessing. Malachi 3:14 describes people complaining that it is vain to serve God. Joel 1:12 says the harvest of the field perished because joy withered from the sons of men, and Deuteronomy 28:47-48 warns that serving God without joy and gladness, in spite of abundance, opens the door to hardship instead. Complaining never brings a solution; it only complicates matters, as it did for Israel in the wilderness, 1 Corinthians 10:10. God loves a cheerful giver, and many seed-sowers see no harvest simply because they give as a burden rather than with gladness.

We must continue to give God the glory for where we are, since that is the only way to reach our ordained worthy place, Psalm 66:12. No one who has heard this word should ever be called a beggar in their lineage or beg for bread, clothing, or shelter. Malachi 2:1-2 warns that if we do not lay this to heart and give God His due, He will withhold the blessing; but as we remain grateful and joyful, our level is ordained to keep changing from one realm of glory to another.

Watch Out Against Wealth Abuse

When you ignore the source of your blessings, the flow stops. Deuteronomy 32:15 and 20 describe Jeshurun growing fat and kicking, forsaking the God who made him, provoking Him to hide His face. Watch out against wealth abuse; if we ignore the source of our supply, the supply will stop.

There's a worthy place for me in God's agenda. So help me Lord, as you bless me, connect me with joy to the source of my blessings.

Jesus, save my soul. Forgive my sins. I want to be part of your family and have an inheritance in you as my Father, tonight, for free, in Jesus's name.

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
