Taking charge by power

Job 36:22

Behold, God exalted by his power, who teacheth like him?

It takes the power of God to overcome the forces of the enemy. Spiritual power is the strength of physical authority, most times when we see people in unquestionable authority, spiritual power is behind them.

A military officer was sent to handle a group of terrorists. As his men shot at the leader, the bullets would not touch him, he had fortified himself with diabolical power. Before the next engagement, the officer anointed his men's arms with oil that had been prayed on by God's servant. The first gunshot afterward was the last, the terrorist leader was wasted. That was how a superior spiritual power handled an inferior one. When two powers meet, the lesser power must bow.

Elijah was practically in charge of Israel in the days of Ahab and Jezebel by the power of God 1 Kings 17, and in 1 Kings 18:24 he called on God and God answered by fire.

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

At the start of this ministry, a young man came whose grandfather and father were witch doctors. All the family members had refused to inherit the position, and none had gone past secondary school, the spirits behind the ancestral altar had limited their lives and destinies. He was prayed for and given rugged spiritual power that broke the spell. He became the first in his family to attend university, graduating with a BSc in Accounting.

It is powerlessness that makes people cheap victims of the forces of the enemy.

Assignment

1. Spend time with God and His word to acquire His power.
2. Desperately make demands on God for the release of His power on your life.

I overcome every ancestral curse, generational curse, or family covenant resisting my life and my destiny by the power of God, in the name of Jesus.

Beyond being blessed

Genesis 12:2-3

I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and I'll bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Our objective is understanding God's purpose for the blessing of his people, and the way into that realm.

1. There is something better than being blessed

   Something higher than having a car, a house, the ability to travel or shop, and that is being a blessing.

2. The blessing is not designed to be a stationary dam

   It is designed to be a flowing river.

3. Desiring only to be blessed, without desiring to be a blessing, is asking for what can't be granted

   He said, "I will bless you, and thou shalt be a blessing." If you will not be a blessing, he will not bless you. Many ask why God has not changed their story, this is why.

4. God's blessing targets not just individuals but families, communities, and nations

   God is not trying to do something in you alone, he is trying to do something that will impact families, communities, and nations.

5. A blessing that will not flow cannot last

   Even if it comes, it will not remain.

How to function as a blessing

Being a blessing through building the house, cities, and kingdom of God in the earth. Matthew 6:33 — seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

David, a symbol of the blessing, vowed he would not rest until he found a habitation for the mighty God of Jacob, and prepared the materials for Solomon to build the temple 1 Chronicles 29. Out of his own possession he gave 3,000 talents of gold and 7,000 talents of refined silver to the house of God, over and above all he had already prepared, and asked, "Who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?" He was blessed, and that blessing went into the house of God.
