Turning The World Upside Down by Dr. Paul Enenche: Sermon Notes

Acts 17:6 — "these that have turned the world upside down have come here too." Numbers 14:21, Habakkuk 2:14 — "the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." God's agenda is stated as a near-oath: the whole earth filled with his glory, whatever it takes.

Four Marks of a World-Changing Generation

1. Impact with unrecoverable force

A single night-and-morning crusade in Pagadian, Philippines, reportedly produced rapid, citywide response — officials and residents affected, a local pastor entrusted afterward with mentoring hundreds of thousands of men through a police-led program.

2. Leaving a place different than you found it

A crusade held in 2021 in a region marked by conflict and unrest went ahead despite serious safety concerns at the time. Ground dedicated in prayer that week was followed, in the account given, by a shift in the local situation over the following months, and a return crusade years later found reported changes in the area's nightlife and public reception.

3. Changing the direction of a nation's laws

Daniel 6:26 — Daniel's influence led directly to a king's decree: "in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel." A generation shaped this way is described as one that influences not only pulpits but policy — laws, legislatures, and public life.

4. Shaking foundations

1 Samuel 16:4 — the elders of Bethlehem trembled at Samuel's arrival. Acts 16:25-26 — Paul and Silas, praying and singing at midnight in prison, were followed by an earthquake that shook the foundations, opened every door, and loosed every chain. When foundations are shaken, prison doors open and bonds are loosed. An unusual deliverance anointing is described as being released for exactly this kind of entrenched bondage.
