The Migration That Begins at Salvation

John 8:31-32 — Jesus spoke unto the Jews that believed on him: "If you continue in my word, then you shall be my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free." It means that it is not everybody that believes that is entitled to knowing the truth. Only those who choose to continue in his word become charter disciples — and it is only to charter disciples that he shows the truth.

We have been investigating all the things that God has done for us — the measures of grace he has made available in his kingdom. There is a great invitation God has extended toward us, such that we are now partakers of his divine nature. This means there is a shift from the plane of human life into the plane of the divine life. We are in the God class.

There is no form of promotion you can receive in any office that can equate the privilege God has given us to participate in the God class.

The Proof of Life is Consciousness

Every form of life has its own consciousness. It is because you have human life that your body speaks to you in an organic language — hunger, thirst, tiredness. The proof of life is consciousness. So when we became partakers of the divine nature, another level of consciousness was brought into our vessel.

John 3:3 — Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word used in the Greek is eido — to perceive. Jesus gave an experiential, organic explanation of what it means to be born again. Someone not born again will deny that the realm of God's kingdom exists because they have no means of perceiving its reality.

When the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in your spirit man, he starts bringing into your vessel the consciousness of the heavens. That is how you came to know you had a calling.

You Are Expensive

The new creation realities are supposed to form your new basis of sight and your new basis of how you see yourself. Because one thing you must know is this:

If you were not expensive, it would not take the death of Jesus to buy you.

God saw that you were expensive, and what it cost him to pay for you was the death of his Son. That forms your understanding of who you are in this new context of reality. Everything in this world might want to prove otherwise — but you are expensive because you know what it cost God.

If someone is still living with inferiority, it is because they have not yet upgraded their understanding to accommodate new creation realities. Many walk into places and believe others are better than them. That is an uneducated part of consciousness that has not been swallowed up by the realities of the new context.

New Creation Realities Lead to New Creation Responsibilities

New creation realities are based on what God has done — what is now obtainable in our lives on the account of what God has done. But new creation responsibilities are the things we are supposed to do in view of what God has done.

We started with the first responsibility: family salvation.

• Everyone that is saved must take on the responsibility to ensure that every member of their household sees the light of salvation.
• Salvation is not meant to be a personal thing — it is a household engagement.
• You are the entry point into the mission field of your extended family.

Acts 16:14-15 — A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple of the city of Thyatira, whose heart the Lord opened, attended to the things spoken by Paul. When she was baptized, her household was baptized with her. Her heart was open, not the heart of her household — but at the end of the day, it was her household that was saved.

Acts 16:31 — Jesus said to Zacchaeus, "Today salvation has come into thy house." The essence of getting one person saved is so that the entire household can be recovered.

Joshua 24:15 — Joshua declared, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." He did not consult the members of his household before he decided for them. God chose to deal with Abraham because he knew Abraham would command every member of his household to follow the ways of the Lord. Part of our spiritual ranking in the presence of God is our willingness to be conduits through which God's kingdom can be extended.

Salvation is supposed to be household-based. People that work for the devil have a more missionary orientation than the people that work for God. We must understand that salvation was designed to be family-based.

The Life of Prayer

The second new creation responsibility is the life of prayer. The soul of church life is in that molecule called prayer.

Acts 2:42 — The apostolic church had a four-point agenda: the apostles' doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. Even though prayer is number four, prayer is the mechanical energy that gives life to every aspect of church life. It is the engine that drives it.

Christianity has no secrets. What we have are people who have refused to continue — and because of that, they have not been able to explore the power that many tributaries of grace hold. Apostolic strategies do not need modification. The way they were handed out, God expects us to continue in them.

The Apostles' Doctrine: Christ Tabernacled in You

John 7 — Jesus first spoke about doctrine around the environment of the feast of Tabernacles. The doctrine he was talking about — which is the doctrine the apostles emphasized — is that God is tabernacled in man. Jesus was saying: My Father dwells in me. The things that I teach are not mine. The things that I do derive from my Father who resides in me.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are chronicles of Jesus living out his Father. Everything he said, everything he did, was not what he wanted but what his Father said and did. Jesus was a theater that manifested his Father. He surrendered his will completely to the will of his Father — and that was the secret of his ministry.

In the same way, Jesus lived out his Father; in the new covenant we are supposed to live out Christ. It was Jesus' Father dwelling in him, but now it is Christ dwelling in us. The Holy Spirit is in your spirit not independently of Christ — he is there as a representative of Christ, making everything of Christ available to you.

1 Corinthians 3:10-11 — Apostle Paul calls himself a wise master builder: "According to the grace of God given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

As a wise master builder, Paul's purpose was to make every member of the body of Christ aware that the operating system of their Christian life is Christ in you. You are carrying a measure of God in your spirit, and that measure of God is the operating system that drives your Christian life.

Your prayer life is built on that foundation. Your prosperity is built on that foundation — the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He gives strategic direction responsible for your profiting. If you cannot trace every area of your life back to Christ, you are fractured, and there are entry points that Satan can come in and out of.

What you need to be a good husband, a good leader, a good anything — is to be a good Christian. Allow that foundation to influence every aspect of your life.

Prayer is an Activity of the Human Spirit

In the four-point agenda, prayer is the heaviest molecule. Even though it is listed fourth, it is the engine.

Romans 1:9 — Paul says: "For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers." The labors of the gospel committed to him were achieved by exercising his spirit. Prayer is a spirit activity.

Ephesians 3:16 — "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man." This is the budget — the spiritual budget God has set in place. It is not quoted in dollars or pounds. That budget is in a currency called grace. God does not begin a thing in time — he concludes it in eternity, makes all resources available in measures of grace before he begins to do it in time.

You were chosen in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world. Jeremiah 1:5 — "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you came forth I sanctified and ordained you." There was an arrangement for you, and in that arrangement there was a budget. Everything you will need to prosecute God's will is already funded.

Part of the way you make demands on that budget is by having your spirit strengthened. Prayer starts the moment strength starts flowing into your spirit. Your human spirit must be energized by the Holy Ghost before you are capable of true prayer.

Our Infirmities and the Spirit Who Helps

Romans 8:26-28 — "Likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

We have shortcomings and weaknesses — not as sin, but as a description of our humanity. God deliberately created us insufficient in our humanity because his idea for man has always been: man plus Holy Ghost. The victorious man is man plus Holy Ghost.

• The first infirmity is ignorance of what to pray — we do not know what we should pray for. Prayer is a precision instrument; it must be guided with exactitude.
• The second infirmity is ignorance of how to pray — we know not what we should pray as we ought. For every prayer point, there are unwritten requirements of how to engage for that prayer to register.
• Where words fail entirely, the Holy Spirit makes intercession with groanings that cannot be uttered — vocabulary that comes from the depth of the foundation of your belly.

When you yield to the Holy Ghost, you become more than just mortal — you have spirit capacity, spirit intelligence. The things you become capable of, natural men cannot do.

God is more concerned about changing you than he is about changing your circumstances. Once you shift, the circumstances will no longer have the authority they have around your life.

God's idea for man is man in complete dependence on him — just as Jesus was completely dependent on his Father and modeled the example of dependence. The test of life is dependence. The only merchandise Jesus gave us is life — and when you depend on him, that life flows through you to others.
