Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Preaching - Day 2 Live: Holy Land Tour
Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • The physical evidence of the Holy Land makes it impossible to honestly deny that the Israel of the Bible is the Israel of today.
  • John wrote his epistle specifically so believers would know — not assume — that they have eternal life right now.
  • Eternal life supplants, not supplements, the human life you were born with; you are born again, not born additionally.
  • When the Holy Spirit fills a believer through to the body, a self-healing process is activated that can dissolve conditions without seeking external healing.

The Evidence of the Holy Land

The striking thing about coming to Israel — especially Jerusalem — is the word evidence. It is impossible to come here and not be convinced that the Israel of the Bible is the Israel standing here today. The evidence is overwhelming. Coins, measurements, dimensions, written inscriptions — all of it intact. You can't deny it.

There are those who claim these people came into a land that is not theirs. Let them come and see. Go to Israel and find out for yourself. Too much evidence has been accumulated to have been fabricated. Nothing remotely comparable exists anywhere else in the world.

2 Peter 1:16 — "For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty."

We are not reporting myths — we are reporting what was seen and heard. The same is true of what one sees here in this land. Half of it was not told — as the queen of Sheba said of Solomon's glory. One of the purposes of this tour is that, as Luke wrote to Theophilus in Luke 1:3–4, "having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first... that thou mightest know the certainty of those things wherein thou hast been instructed."

The evidence here is beyond reasonable doubt.

You Have Eternal Life — Know It

1 John 5:11–13 — "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life."

Notice the tenses. He does not say God shall give, or God may give when you pray harder or please Him enough. He says God has given. It is done. This is the record, the testimony, the witness.

He that has the Son has life. He that does not have the Son does not have life. This is not a matter of church attendance or blood relation. One twin can have eternal life while the other does not, because eternal life is in the Son — not in family.

But the most powerful part is verse 13: "I write these things to you... so that you may know that you have eternal life." He does not want speculation. He does not want assumption. He wants knowledge. Know that you have it.

If most Christians truly knew they had eternal life, the way they live would change entirely. Too many Christians live as though they will receive eternal life when they get to heaven. But the Bible says you already have it. Now. The record is clear.

Eternal life is the organic and existential attributes of deity — the life and nature of God Himself. It is not an additional life added on top of the human life you were born with. It supplants the human life. That is why Jesus said you must be born again — not born additionally.

You do not have two natures as a believer. You are a spirit being living in a body. You have one nature — the nature of God in Christ Jesus. The life of God did not come to coexist with the human life. It replaced it.

Colossians 1:26–27 declares: "Christ in you, the hope of glory." The hope of glory has been realized. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God — but Christ in you means glory is now in your life. You are not hoping for glory. The hope of glory has come.

Why Many Christians Don't Live Like This

Because they were never taught. Nobody explained what eternal life means or what it does. As long as they are taught that eternal life is something they receive when they reach heaven, that is what they will believe.

And then, unconsciously, they live as human beings subject to the same elements of this world — sickness, weakness, the changes of weather. They get sick and spend time looking for medications. Why? Psalm 82:5–6 says they know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness. But God has said: ye are gods, all of you are children of the Most High. They die like men — not because they must, but because they know not.

Work out your own salvation (Philippians 2:12) — not it works itself out, but you work it out. Put the word to work. Christianity does not do something for you — you do something with your Christianity.

The Spirit Vitalizes the Body

Romans 8:10–11 — "And if Christ be in you, though the body be dead because of sin, the spirit gives it life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken — vitalize — your mortal body by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

Sickness is incipient death. If your body has been troubled with any condition, come to this Scripture. If the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, that same Spirit shall vitalize your mortal — your death-doomed — body.

God's solution for the body of the believer is not external medicine as the primary recourse. It is the Spirit Himself. This does not mean the Spirit cannot work through medicine, but the primary resource is within.

Practice Being Filled

Being filled with the Spirit can happen in stages:

  • First through the spirit — where the Holy Ghost dwells.
  • Then through the soul — will, mind, and emotions.
  • Then through the body — flesh and senses.

Ephesians 5:18 commands: be filled with the Spirit. When that filling reaches the body, something tangible happens — like those in the upper room who appeared drunk. That is when healings and restorations in the body become consistent and natural.

Practice it. Every day. Let the Spirit go through your spirit, your soul, your toes, your feet, your limbs, your whole body, your head — everything. Do it every day. People who practice this find that conditions in their body simply cannot stay. The self-healing process is active. This will keep the heart, kidneys, blood circulation, lungs, and brain in right condition.

Getting people to simply practice this has resulted in confirmed cancer disappearing. Just practice it.

You have eternal life. The life of God is inside you. Stir it up. Pray in the spirit. Let it get into your body. Christ in you is the hope of glory — glory realized. Vitalize your mortal body. This is not theory — this is who you are in Christ Jesus.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
