Victory at Last — The Enemy Submitted

Victory speaks of overcoming. There is no person under the earth who will not desire victory. When we talk about victory, we are talking about triumph — overcoming longtime battles. There are people who are living in a struggle, in battles, issues all over their life. Victory speaks of overcoming that issue, overcoming a long battle.

1 Corinthians 15:57 — Thanks be unto God who has given us victory through Christ our Lord.

Victory at last is converting failure to success. It is a man or woman who was in a story, but one day God remembered them and they moved from story to glory. It is believing God for breakthrough, for light, and at the end of the day, God showing up.

There are temporary kinds of victory. What you need is everlasting victory — the kind of victory God has given to you.

What Is an Enemy?

An enemy is anything saying no to the yes of God in your life. Haters, hostile forces. Anything that will not give you rest has become an enemy. John 10:10 — The thief cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

Three things the enemy does: steal, kill, destroy. But the enemy does not let you rest.

The enemy wants you to get married without children — a half miracle. Enemy wants you to graduate with first class, no job. Enemy wants your miracle to be incomplete. We are not negotiating tonight. Tell the person close to you: I am not negotiating. My miracle must be complete.

When enemies are under pressure, they start to negotiate. Just as Pharaoh negotiated with Moses — go, but leave your flocks. Moses said no: our cattle shall also go with us. Not one hoof shall be left behind.

A true deliverance includes everything. If you are going through deliverance, your finance must be delivered. Your marriage must be delivered. Your academics must be delivered. It is an error to prosper in one area and fail in another.

Types of Enemies

There are internal enemies and external enemies.

  1. Enemies Sponsoring Defeat

All their desire, all their thoughts: I cannot make it. I do not think I can pass this exam. That is a voice — an enemy speaking to your heart. 2 Corinthians 10:5 — We cast down every imagination, bringing it under the obedience of Christ. Every thought of failure, every thought of defeat, every thought of I cannot do it — tonight it disappears. Who is that voice telling you that you cannot succeed in life? That person is telling you lies. The devil is a father of lies. You will succeed.

  2. Enemies Against Open Doors

1 Corinthians 16:9 — A great door and effectual is open for me, but there are many adversaries. Every door the enemy wants to close against you — as you shout amen, they go down by fire and your doors open by fire.

Rest on Every Side — 1 Kings 5

1 Kings 5:3-5 — Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house unto the name of the Lord his God for the wars which were about him on every side until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet. But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent. And behold, I purpose to build a house unto the name of the Lord my God.

Solomon was living a life of rest. Trouble is part of greatness. David could not build the house because of war, because of adversity, because of evil occurrences. But God gave Solomon rest on every side.

There are people under the sound of this voice because of war, because of adversary, because of evil occurrences — there is no rest. But I announce to you today: anything that has denied you rest shall be taken away from your life. Call it adversary, call it war, call it evil occurrences.

I make a decree: you are coming out of that trouble. You are coming out of that adversary. You are coming out of that evil occurrence. Every limitation on your way, by the force of grace, it will be shattered. You shall enjoy rest in your finance, rest in your spiritual life, rest in your marital life, rest in your family. The yoke shall be broken.

Isaiah 10:27 — It shall come to pass in that day that the burden shall be lifted off the shoulder. The yoke from the neck and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Two Requirements for Rest on Every Side

  1. A Good Father

You cannot enjoy rest when you have a bad father. Solomon was shouting what he was shouting because the father had already prepared the way for him — a man who fought sixty-six wars without losing one. No wonder Solomon did not fight war. Ask yourself: who fought your war before you were born?

The Bible says a good man leaveth an inheritance for his children. There are fathers that donate children. There are fathers that waste children. There are fathers that do not care. But there is good news for you: even if your father sold you out, there is another Father who has bought you with his blood. Your biological father is a product of where you are coming from. Your spiritual father is a product of where you are going.

2 Kings 4:1 — The creditor came to take the children. A man who used everything he had and there was nothing left. You cannot enjoy rest when your foundation has not been dealt with.

  2. Favor

Solomon was not a perfect son — his mother was considered an outsider. But God chose him, because God is the one who elects without election. When God elects you, you win without printing posters.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 — The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding — it is time and chance, grace and favor. In everything you do, cry for favor.

1 Chronicles 12:22 — Daily men were coming to help David daily. He did not say he will give you weekly bread — he said daily bread.

Psalm 102:13 — Thou shalt arise and have mercy on Zion, for the set time, the set time to favor Zion has come. Your case will be the first to be called. You will enjoy access — access to greatness, access to opportunity, access to breakthrough, access to new level, access to international doors, access to help.

Types of Prayer

Prayer is a fundamental doctrine of faith — it is not debatable. But many people pray and answers are minimal because they have a wrong concept. James 4:3 — Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss. There are about 22 types of prayer.

  1. The Prayer of Repentance

Repentance is fundamental. You cannot even be enlisted into this family without it. Repentance is not confessing sin — if you go confessing sin, you will confess and confess and lose count. Repentance is saying, Jesus, I accept you. Romans 10:10 — With the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  2. The Prayer of Communion

Nobody makes impact without a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. This prayer is not shouting or screaming or wailing. It is a prayer of conversation with the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14 — The grace of our Lord Jesus, the love of God, and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit likes to be spoken to. One evening lying down, the Holy Spirit responded: it took you a whole day to say this to me. That is how much he is interested in conversation.

  3. The Prayer of Agreement

There are battles in your life that will never end until somebody agrees with you. You pray alone, fast and fast — nothing will happen until you engage agreement prayer. Matthew 18:19 — If two shall agree on earth as touching any thing they shall ask, it shall be done. Hannah did not experience breakthrough until Eli agreed. 1 Samuel 1:17 — Go in peace, the God of Israel grant thee thy petition. When Steven was stoned he died because there were no brethren around him. When the same people stoned Paul, brethren gathered around him and life came back — because when there is a gathering, there are innumerable companies of angels.

  4. The Prayer of Cleansing

As a believer, you must constantly pray Lord, cleanse me — because of thoughts, reactions, emotions, bitterness, anger. Psalm 51. 2 Corinthians 7:1 — Having these promises, let us cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. God will withdraw his presence when you judge or speak wrongly about his servants — as happened in a 3-day meeting where the presence departed because of a critical word spoken. Falling on the face and asking for cleansing restored it, and the third night was a night of outstanding miracles.

  5. Warfare Prayers

You do not pray warfare prayers on your knees — you pray them on your feet. Ephesians 6:10-18 — Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God. You do not beg. You exercise authority. You speak from a position of advantage. In the name of Jesus, I rebuke you. In the name of Jesus, I take authority. Warfare prayers are prayers released to combat unseen forces and put them where they belong, using scripture as the weapon. Warfare songs are also important. Daniel 10 — Daniel prayed warfare prayers for 21 days. A prince of Persia contended until Michael appeared, because in the angelic order, it takes a prince to handle a prince. God is not emotional. Until you understand how to engage spiritual laws, you may end up stranded.

  6. The Prayer of Affirmation

Sometimes you affirm: Lord, I believe your word. You said by your stripes I am healed. I believe it. This is called prayer of affirmation — affirming your faith in God, sending God's word back to him and letting him know you believe it. You are rehearsing it to his hearing, to the hearing of spirits. Numbers 23:19 — God is not a man that he should lie. This kind of prayer can be done while cooking. Promotion comes not from east or west — God is the judge, and I believe my promotion has come.

  7. Praying in Tongues

Praying in tongues is the spirit praying — it is not you praying. Your vocal cord is only a passageway for the spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:18 — I speak in tongues more than ye all. Jude 1:20 — Praying in the Holy Ghost, building up yourselves in your most holy faith. When you pray in the spirit, you are building your spiritual muscles — like lifting weights in the spirit. You confuse the devil. Between Acts 2 and Acts 4, there was a puncture — a power leakage through fear. They had to pray again to be filled again. Tell somebody: pray in the spirit.

  8. The Prayer of Thanksgiving

Anything you thank God for multiplies. Anything you complain about reduces. This prayer carries multiplication power. When Jesus got to the grave of Lazarus, he said, Father, we thank you that you hear me always. When he lifted the five loaves, John 6, he gave thanks. Make thanksgiving a lifestyle — intentional, conscious, deliberate, a life of constant gratitude. Worthy, worthy, worthy is your name. I give you all the glory. Holy, holy, holy are you, Lord.

  • Lord, cleanse me. Cleanse my heart. Purge me. Cleanse me.
  • Father in heaven, how I love you. I lift your name in all the earth. May your kingdom be established in our presence. As your people, we declare your mighty works.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
