Maximizing the blessing beyond tithes and giving

Deuteronomy 28:8

The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee and thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto.

Isaiah 61:9

Their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, all that see them shall acknowledge that they are the seed which the Lord has blessed.

• God's plan for his people is not just to survive and thrive, but to exist in the realm of more than enough
• It is possible to exist in the realm of never enough, or just enough, but God's plan is far more than enough
• God's plan is a blessing that is visible, so nobody can claim ignorance of what he has done in your life

Psalm 23:5 — thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over.

1 Chronicles 4:10 — oh that thou would bless me indeed.

God's plan is for his people to bring out the old stock of blessing to make room for the new.

Leviticus 26:10

You will eat the old supply, of abundant produce, and clear out the old to make room for the new.

Your last breakthrough must not end before the next one arrives. It is not breakthrough, breakdown, breakthrough, breakdown — it is breakthrough and remain through.

1. Possess visions and goals of excess or abundance

   Proverbs 23:7 — as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.

   Proverbs 4:20-23 — keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

   Vision is the raw material for reality. Vision is the magnet of provision.

   Proverbs 21:5

   The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness.

   There is an abundance mentality and there is a scarcity mentality. A businessman under this ministry's covering once set a benchmark of 10 billion for himself and planned to retire at that point. He was told that vision was too small — billions are needed for his generation, to empower people and push the gospel. He shifted his vision, and today anything under 10 billion is not a job he touches.

   Vision limits destiny. Mindset limits lifestyle.

   Genesis 26:1,12

   There was famine in the land and Isaac sowed in that land, and the Lord blessed him and he received in the same year a hundredfold. While people were thinking of what to eat, he was thinking of what to multiply.

   John 6:5

   Jesus asked, "Where shall we buy bread that these may eat?" Not where to get money — as far as he was concerned, money was not a problem. Philip answered about the cost, but Jesus was asking about the bread.

2. Be diligent — brutally industrious and highly enterprising

   Work until resistance bows. Isaac worked, Abraham worked, Jacob worked.

   Real wealth does not go with laziness. A businessman with interests in 125 nations wakes at 2am every day to set the day for his interests.

   Deuteronomy 28:8

   The Lord will command the blessing on the work of your hands.

   Even Solomon, the richest man, was enterprising.

   1 Kings 10:28-29

   Solomon's horses were brought from Egypt at wholesale prices, and an Egyptian chariot cost 600 shekels of silver, a horse 150. Many of these were resold to the Hittite and Syrian kings. He bought and resold for profit.

   Job 1:1-3

   Job had 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and a very great household — he was the greatest of all the men of the East.

   2 Kings 8:5-6

   The Shunammite woman had fields and houses generating income during a famine. The king restored her house and her field, because she did not let her husband's inaction choke her industriousness.

   • If your wife is industrious, don't be jealous — support her and release her
   • If you are that woman, don't be arrogant or rebellious — submit to the authority of your man

3. Possess integrity — function with faithfulness

   Proverbs 28:20

   A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he that maketh haste to be rich cannot be innocent.

   A builder given 150 million to construct two duplexes secretly cut costs to 25 million each — shabby foundation, terrible concrete mix — and the houses collapsed in one storm. On the flip side, a brother given a multi-billion contract used more than was required, was noticed by a review panel, and had his contract reviewed upward by billions.

   Daniel 6:1-4

   Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes because an excellent spirit was found in him. They could find no fault in him, for he was faithful.

   2 Kings 12:15

   They reckoned not with the men to whom they delivered the money, for they dealt faithfully.

   Money came by integrity. If you will deal faithfully, you will be handed money.

4. Don't spend everything — maintain a reserve

   Deuteronomy 28:8

   The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee and thy storehouses.

   No matter how little enters your hand, it must not all be spent, for two reasons:

   • It is a faith action that says more is coming — start from where you are, putting aside even a little
   • It is a strategic plan for future victory against scarcity

   Joel 3:10 — let the weak say, I am strong.

   Genesis 41:34-36 — Joseph put food aside in the years of plenty, which gave Egypt victory against scarcity.

   2 Kings 4:2-3 — the prophet's widow had only a pot of oil, and what was in her house saved her children from being sold as slaves.

   The ministry's first land was bought entirely from what had been reserved, not from money raised in church.

   When you put something aside, you are telling God you are ready for what he wants to send you.

5. Be investment-minded

   The purpose of money is not expenditure, it is investment.

   Proverbs 24:27

   Prepare your work outside and make it fit for yourself in the field, and afterward build your house. Develop your business first, before luxury.

   1 Kings 10:28-29

   Solomon bought chariots for resale, not for luxury, and used the proceeds to build the temple.

   When money enters the hand, the first thing to think is not what can I buy, it's where can I invest.

   It is not wisdom to pay and enrich every other person at the expense of your own increase. While you pay others, ensure you are also being paid — pay yourself first, and put something aside that will make more money for you.

   Luke 19:12 — referenced on banking money with interest.

   Don't waste your life chasing money that does not exist. Start from where you are. When Isaac's wells were contested he moved on until he reached Rehoboth. Elijah moved on when the brook dried up. Change location, change approach — align with what can bring money daily, weekly, monthly, before the big one comes.
